BASURA is inspired by the Orquesta De Reciclados De Cateura. Based on the award winning documentary “Landfill Harmonic,” this a story that celebrates the power of music, resilience and community. Original music by eight time Grammy Award® Winner Gloria Estefan and her daughter Emily Estefan. Book by Karen Zacarías (Mariela in the Desert, The Sins of Sor Juana, Destiny of Desire). Directed by Tony Award® Nominee Michael Greif (Rent, Dear Evan Hansen, Next to Normal). With Dramaturg Ken Cerniglia (Redwood, Hadestown) and Music Supervisor Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton, In the Heights).
